Truth bomb: When I first started wedding photography, I hated getting ready photos. It was a challenge! Now – I’m all about them! There are so many reasons why it is necessary to have a photographer before the ceremony. There’s so many emotions that lead up to the ceremony. The excitement, the nerves, the tears of joy. I’ve had couples do gifts to each other and others who said “screw traditions” and saw each other before even getting ready.
They matter especially if you’re doing little things before the wedding. Example, a gift exchange or letter exchange. Some people write their vows as they get ready. You won’t regret having that moment captured and for you to look back on. It might even make that memory that much more special.
How awesome would it be to look back and have photos and videos of your loved ones helping you get ready? To be able to remember the look on your loved ones’ faces as they help with the finishing touches or see you for the first time all dolled up and looking amazing. I always see the looks and emotions of parents’ faces as they help with the final touches. It is always a sweet, intimate moment (and yes, it gets me in tears, too).
Having photos from the start of the day to the end of the day will tell the full story of your wedding. We’re not just photographers and videographers – we tell stories in ways that most people can’t. You can’t forget the beginning to the story of your wedding day,
