Nancy and Joel are high school sweethearts with the cutest story! Nancy and Joel first met in the halls of their alma matter. Before making things official 10 years ago, Joel received permission from Nancy’s father (WHAT A GENTLEMAN. OMG). In May 2018, Joel popped the question at the end of a Dodgers game with fireworks and Backstreet Boys playing in the background. (Backstory – Nancy LOVES BSB!) You bet I squeal every single time I hear this story. They tied the knot in June 2019 and I had the privilege of documenting it!

We started the day meeting with the groom himself, family, and his groomsmen. Let me tell you – I have never felt so welcome into a home before. It was an instant connection with everyone!

 

 

After hanging with the guys, we drove over to the Kamehameha Golf Course – a beautiful venue in Waikapu with a view that overlooks the island. Here, the bride herself, her family, and her bridesmaids were being glammed up!

Nancy wore a beautiful mermaid style wedding dress with a long, beautiful veil. Her bridesmaids wore gorgeous red dresses.

 

 

The intimate moment between Nancy and her mother was by far one of my favorite moments of the entire day. There’s something about a bond between a mother and a daughter… It’s amazing.

Before the ceremony, Nancy and Joel exchanged gifts. Nancy gave Joel a beautiful watch, and Joel gave Nancy a little video/slideshow! (Yes, I cried during this, too.)

 

 

Nancy and Joel had their ceremony at the Kahalawai Terrace. It was a sunny, slightly windy day. There were clear blue skies and the view was stunning as always.

 

 

The reception followed in the Marilyn Monroe House. They had the cutest dessert set up cupcakes AND a cake. Nancy wore two dresses throughout the night — both SO GORGEOUS. Nancy and Joel had an EPIC first dance, and a beautiful brother/sister dance and mother/son dance. They brought in the award winning band Paso Firme and danced the night away.
