When McKenzie and her dad asked me to take her senior portraits I was ecstatic. I’ve known McKenzie since she was about 5 years old. McKenzie and Naiomi basically grew up together.

We planned for a sunrise photoshoot at a beautiful beach (one of my favorite beaches). This photoshoot could not have been any more perfect. Brandon and I got up at 4:30 to prep and made our way to location. We got there at 5:30, and though it was still dark, I could tell that there was barely any clouds in the sky. Brandon was still half asleep at this time lol. Just as 6:00 rolled around, McKenzie and her dad showed up. It was still a little dark and the sun was barely peeking through. It was so cold (well… cold for Hawai’i). We spent some time in this little “forest” area, and just as we made our way to the shore, the sun was greeting us a beautiful good morning.

I was correct – there was barely a cloud in the sky and it was one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in a while.
